According to a study based on census data released by S&P Global Mobility, the current Ford Mustang has been the best-selling sports vehicle in the world for the last year.
Despite the fact that this statistic excludes the electric crossover Mach-E, Ford sold 70 thousand Mustangs internationally in the previous year, according to Motor1.
The United States accounted for 76 percent of total Mustang sales, the company reports. Demand for the Mustang surged the most in New Zealand (over 54.3 percent), Brazil (over 37.3 percent), and South Korea (over 16.6 percent).
Despite the fact that 2022 may be a difficult year for the Mustag, it has been the best-selling sports vehicle in the world for seven years in a row.
Mustang sales in the United States plummeted 19 percent in the first quarter of this year, but the Ford model was still the best-selling car in the country, with 13,986 units sold.
The Dodge Challenger is in second spot with 11,124 automobiles, followed by the Chevrolet Camaro with 6,710. Meanwhile, development on the next-generation Mustang continues, with an estimated completion date of 2024.
