“AA8”: One of the world’s most valuable license plates was auctioned off for a staggering sum.
Vehicle license plates have always been pricey, especially those with fewer characters.
One such instance was a Dubai license plate that “grabbed” a large sum during a charity auction, to the point where it is now one of the world’s most expensive license plates. The AA8 vehicle’s license plate number was sold for 35 million dirhams ($9.5 million) at the charity auction “Most Noble Numbers.”
The AA8 license plate isn’t the only pricey three-character plate that has been auctioned off for a high price. Each of the license plates “F55,” “V66,” and “Y66” was sold for more than a million dollars.
